Turning a concrete reverb box into a recording studio

Back in 2012 Paul moved from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur to start a new venture. This meant the loss of Calamity Studio Singapore, the home studio where most of the material for the two Anawaty Russell albums had been made.

So, having splashed out on a nice big condo with a super view of KL, he decided to build a new studio, which he named ‘Calamity Studio KL’

Here is a video record of how he built this sound treated room. Be it’s not for the faint of heart – Paul’s sense of humour can be quite profane. You have been warned.

Reach Out – helping the KL homeless

Reach Out is non-Government Organisation (NGO) that exists purely on charitable donations and volunteers. Every night they carry out forays into the city of KL, bringing food, assistance and medical attention to the unfortunate of the city.

This is their story. Some of our music from Analog Universe is featured during its telling.
